Get Rid of That REALpiece-of-shit Player: Install Media Player Classic instead

Click here to replace RealPiece-of-shit Player: " Release Notes MPC 6.4.8.1 [Notes & Files (Media Player Classic)]"

While it may not be the flashiest interface around it is a whole lot better than spending ten minutes downloading a fist full of programs and advertisements every time I touch some software that start with the words REAL. Realplayer, Realmedia, Realjukebox, Realarcade, RealAnnoying, RealPoor choices as far as I would say.

Many think there is no choice if experiencing the streaming whatever that your newest must see website is offering. All Webmaster seem to go through the "R E A L" experience by offering the proprietary media software that has positioned itself in a all or nothing road block between what they want to shove down your internet connection (in this case instead of your figurative throat) in order to get the content you initially tried to view or hear about 3 years ago when you first started this journey of downloading the free "R E A L" player. Since then you have had to say no to the upgraded premium player (for $19.95) and the monthly subscription to realjukebox ($9.95). If you cleared that hurdle did you fall for the RealArcade scam to play games that are free everywhere else but with these you can 'save your game' and play offline.

That is the catch...with RealAnything the user is never offline. If somehow you wormed your way through the obstacle course of popups, offers, installation refusals, confirmation boxes and some unrelated popups unscathed and not committed to the RealAssholes Network then wait 30 seconds because here comes the nags, nags, nags worst than a spyware program reminding me that if I want to use the program I must succumb.

Wait, Wait there is a small free open source program that has labored to divert your attention back to the media content you tried to hear way back when before you were "R E A L". Do you even remember?

Look to uninstall every single program that starts with the letters "R E A L" in the add/remove programs dialogue in the control panel for you windows users which is all I know. Hell most goofy Mac users that love I-pod-tunes-shuffle-pictures-whatever and the big bro' nature of the white monolith probably are thinking "but I like the realplayer and all the subscriptions in one place costing me $45 a month for nothing?"

But REALly folks, media player classic will player every realmedia file except for the geekoid conversion files along with most QuickTime, quickshow, .mov or any MIME file that is from the take us, we take over, or we take away your choices software developer that ever pissed you off
